Dear Comrades,
People from the southern part of the Korean peninsula do know what the US occupation means. Western imperialism has a hegemony role in contemporary times. Also, Western societies face a lot of contradictions and systematic capitalist crisis. The USA and its satellites, such as NATO and EU, want to keep power and hegemony in the world and for that reason fight against socialist, progressive, and sovereign countries and want to conquer new markets. Moreover, US, EU, and NATO lead policies against Cuba, Venezuela, and progressive governments and movements in Latin America. The US permanently provokes the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and the People’s Republic of China. Likewise, Western imperialism is guilty of wars and looting of Africa.
These days, Western media are putting the focus on the war between NATO and Russia. In February 2014, with the direct assistance of the USA and other NATO countries, a government coup took place in Ukraine. Throughout the long eight years, the European countries and the USA looked at the genocide of the Russian people in Donbas with extreme equanimity, thus effectively justifying the actions of the Kyiv regime.
Today, the EU and the USA are displaying unheard-of hypocrisy in describing people’s suffering in the course of battles, but ignoring the fact that the use of civilians as human shields has become the standard practice of those whom they call “freedom fighters.”
Nazi ideology is being inculcated in Ukraine. Ukrainian Fascists who organized and committed atrocities during the Second World War have been officially proclaimed national heroes. Their symbols have been adopted by the state. Monuments to Lenin and everything reminiscent of life in the USSR is being destroyed.
While the Western politicians and the media, who arrogantly claim to represent “the world community,” openly take the side of the Neo-Nazis, major countries in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America have firsthand experience of European and American neo-colonialism, quite rightly see the events in Ukraine as Russia’s struggle against the US-led unipolar world. NATO and Western imperialism are the major enemies of peace.
Peoples of the Balkans, especially in the area of the former Yugoslavia, know best what imperialism is. Imperialists want to underpin new clashes in the Balkans. Our position is that NATO is the striking fist of Western imperialism, it is a monstrous aggressive military alliance that provokes wars, conflicts, and unrest around the world.
Undoubtedly, however, all the peoples of the former Yugoslavia, all of them without any exception, have been and are victims of Western imperialism and the violent dismantling of Yugoslavia. Political and economic dependence and conditioning are crystal clear everywhere in former Yugoslavia, we have become easy prey for sharks that have entered our waters.
The necessary and urgent duty for the people is to reject and oppose the policy of “divide and conquer” which aims at the emergence of new and weak states, in fact, protectorates, as is the case in face of the situation emerging in Kosovo. Today the imperialist plans and rivalry may again cause bloodshed in the region. Undoubtedly, however, all the peoples of the former Yugoslavia, all of them without any exception, have been and are victims of Western imperialism and the violent dismantling of Yugoslavia. Political and economic dependence and conditioning are crystal clear everywhere in former Yugoslavia, we have become easy prey for sharks that have entered our waters.
The policy promoted by the imperialist powers aims not only to the intensification of foreign interventions but also to establishment of governments servile to the imperialist dictates, of regimes that will further deepen the capitalist exploitation and bind their countries to the imperialist organizations of NATO and EU. MMF and World Bank make constant pressure on Serbia’s government to implement anti-popular policies. The last example is that Serbia Government decided to convert the Electric power industry of Serbia from a state company to a joint-stock company and this is the first stage of privatization.
The worsening of workers’ living standards in the Balkan countries, the reinforcement of the imperialist organizations, and the measures of repression against communists and the anti-imperialist movement that are taken throughout Europe, also increase the need to act in a better, more organized, and coordinated manner through the ranks of the anti-imperialist, anti-NATO and the mass labor movement.
The southern part of Serbia, Kosovo and Metohija, is occupied by NATO. The puppet regime in Kosovo permanently provokes Serbs and Non – Albanians and US and EU squint for it. In that part of our territory, there is the biggest US military base in Balkan – Bondsteel. This part of our territory is under the reign of mafia and war criminals that, with the help of NATO, have control over this territory. Today, negotiations are in process between the puppet regime of, so-called, Kosovo and the Serbian pro-imperialist regime. Western imperialism insists on that agreement because that is the continuation of breaking Yugoslavia.
However, the situation in the world is rapidly changing. The process of de-dollarization is permanent and a new model of trade arises among a lot of countries and weakens US hegemony. Also, New Near East appears. The left and Anti–imperialist forces make a new model of cooperation in Latin America and also thanks to China and Russia the situation is changing in Africa.
We are ready to change the circumstances in our country. Our orientation, as an Anti–imperialist organization is on the position of proletarian internationalism. For us, that is not a dead letter, but a principle. We expect solidarity and help, but we are also ready to stand in solidarity and help as much as we can all of our sister organizations.
We think that Anti – imperialists must give a strong message of unity and determination to fight for peace, and independence and against imperialism and wars. We need to fight against Western imperialism hegemony. We need to fight on two levels – theoretical and practical.
